IAt St. Paul, the Parent Activity Committee (PAC) is the organization responsible for providing a volunteer base and monetary support to enhance the educational environment at school. This benefits EVERYONE at St. Paul – from students, to teachers, to families!
Who is in PAC?
If your child attends St. Paul, you're a member of PAC! All parents are encouraged to get involved in PAC to share ideas on fundraising, give feedback to better support the educational environment at St. Paul, and volunteer.
How does PAC raise money for St. Paul?
PAC sponsors many of the school-wide events which bring in money to benefit teachers & students. Our biggest events are the Walk-A-Thon, Flower Sale, Silent Auction and Christmas Bazaar. We also collect PAC dues from each family at the time of tuition payment.
How are decisions made in PAC?
The PAC board meets monthly to discuss fundraising events and to review & vote on spending opportunities. The board welcomes feedback and ideas from all PAC members – including you!
Where does PAC currently invest the money it raises?
So many places! To name a few: Grade Level Parties; high school scholarships for graduating 8th graders; classroom supplies & gym equipment for teachers; classroom furniture; field trips; teacher appreciation; fun events like the President’s Day Skating Party!
Why should I get involved? We’re a busy family as it is!
St. Paul families are incredibly busy – we get it! Volunteering your time or talents, even in a small way, is a huge help to PAC, but can be an even BIGGER benefit to you & your family because it helps build community. There are volunteer opportunities that only take a couple hours (such as setting up for the Spaghetti Dinner or working at the Christmas Bazaar); if you have a little extra time and want to put your stamp on an event, there are always opportunities to lead a committee or co-chair an event. You could even join the Board if you’d like to help make decisions about where PAC’s money goes! All of these jobs are done by busy parents today and will be in the future. Getting involved is a great way to see how the school works more closely; to get to know administration & teachers; and most of all, to build community and get to know other families at St. Paul.
I want to get involved. What’s next?
You’ve taken the first step – you’ve found your way to the PAC page! Head over to the iVolunteer site https://stpaul.ivolunteer.com/ to see what volunteer opportunities currently exist; there is a description alongside each opportunity about what it entails. If you aren’t sure how you want to contribute, but just want to talk about options, email [email protected] and we can discuss with you. You can also reach out to any of the PAC Board members at any time to learn more about how to get involved; feel free to look us up in the school directory!
