Intervention Services

We are dedicated to providing a well rounded team of professionals to help in your child's unique educational needs.

Each St. Paul School student is a valued person with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.

Guidance Counselor, Mr. Joe Carr

As a School Guidance Counselor, Mr. Carr is involved in classroom guidance which covers such topics as testing skills, vocational interest, communication skills, anger management, and conflict resolution. He also does individual counseling which helps students with social skills, peer relationships, and emotional support in difficult situations. Guidance programs include Peer Mediation, Career Day, College Day and Parent to Parent Training. Mr. Carr has been a school counselor since 1988 and has been at St. Paul since 2002. carrj@wcsoh.org

School Psychologist, Ms. Julie Krizay

Ms. Krizay is an Educational Psychologist with the Westerville City Schools and will be working with St. Paul students on Wednesdays. She is a graduate of Miami University and Ball State University. She previously worked in the Carmel Clay Schools in Carmel, Indiana. Julie enjoys reading, traveling, walking, scrapbooking and knitting. krizayj@wcsoh.org

Instruction Specialist, Ms. Mary Yoest

Ms. Yoest is an Intervention Specialist with Westerville City Schools. She has been at St. Paul School since 2009. She works with special needs students in grades K-8. She provides small groups with support services five days a week. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family. yoestm@wcsoh.org

Grades 1-3 Reading Tutor, Mrs. Laurie Locke

Mrs. Locke works with students in first through third grades helping them improve their reading skills. The students receive services five days a week for thirty minutes each day. The students work in a small group setting. As an employee of Westerville City Schools, Mrs. Locke has been teaching at St. Paul School since 1980. She received her B.A. in 1980 from Capital University and earned her M.A. in 2002 from Marygrove College. She is certified in the areas of Elementary Education, Reading, and Specific Learning Disabled. lockel@wcsoh.org

Our School Nurse

Mrs. Betsy Johnson

Mrs. Johnson came to St. Paul School in 1996. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing at the Ohio State University. Her school nurse certification and doctoral studies were also at the Ohio State University. She has over 30 years of extensive and diverse nursing experience that includes university faculty positions. She is a certified CPR instructor for both the American Heart Association and Red Cross. Mrs. Johnson serves the entire school. bjohnson@cdeducation.org

Speech Pathologist, Mrs. Angela McPeak

Mrs. McPeak is a Westerville City School Speech Pathologist who has been working with St.Paul students since 2010. She is a graduate of the University of Toledo where she received both her Bachelor and Master Degrees. Before coming to St. Paul she worked in an outpatient facility in Gahanna. She currently works at both St. Paul and Blendon Middle School. Mrs. McPeak provides speech and language services to students in grades k-8 who have difficulty with sound production, understanding and using language concepts as well as fluency. In her spare time Mrs. McPeak enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading and cheering on the Buckeyes. amcpeak@wcsoh.org
